The journey starts before it begins. The journey starts at around the time Dad first mentions the Great Rift Valley and Mum talks of arriving without a house built for her and baby Cathy, of children walking miles to school and of running out of petrol thankfully at the top of the hill so they were able to cruise down all the way to the petrol station at the bottom.
But this blog will need to start later than that lest I'm still describing the start after the actual journey begins.

For 2010, I am looking for opportunities to use my skills and experience to help other organisations or individuals. I would rather call it collaboration than consultancy but call it whatever you like.
I have a particular interest cross-sector partnerships (private-charity or private-public-charity) for helping with inital design of projects/programmes/partnerships or problem solving. But I am open to working with any form of organisation.
I've already got a couple of non-profit projects in inital stages so I'm really only interested projects which have already secured funding. But of course willing to discuss your idea for free!
My Cunning Plan
My cunning plan was to leave work then go and live in Uganda for 5 months from Feb 2009. The overall aim is still to dedicate myself to learning about, and helping, Chilli Children in UK and Uganda. But there is now no time limit and no limit to the possibilities!

Chilli Children Trust
The Chilli Children Trust is a charity I set up in 2003 with my Dad after we briefly met Pat Gilmer who asked us to. She needed a proper UK charity set up to support the Chilli & Disabled Children's Project in Rukungiri that she was about to retire from managing since its creation in 1992. The Children's Project helps 5,000 orphaned and disabled children in SW Uganda through a chilli growing scheme for family income and medical schemes for disabled children.

The cunning plan for this blog is ... to share my journey. It's an experiment. I hope that you will enjoy reading my blog and stay in touch while I make this journey. Not sure what it'll contain. Never a better time to say... watch this space!
